Company mission

To be a welcoming space for conversation and expression - where LBGTQ+ folks can build relationships, have fun, and belong.

Our take

Lex is a social app for the queer community that was founded in 2020. Through its platform users can announce meetups, find events, share poetry and jokes, have discussions, connect for hook-ups and dates, and more.

The idea for the app was based off lesbian personal ads of the eighties, and its original direction was more that of a dating app, but a 2023 brand refresh has seen the company broaden the scope of its product to focus on "friends and community."

Interestingly, this new direction has raised concerns from many users, who do not wish the app to shy away from its raunchier roots. While it remains to be seen how far this changing focus goes, the additional social capabilities of the app should certainly pull in a wider range of users, and could very well present a rich opportunity for Lex to grow.
