Our take
Limna is the world’s first AI-powered art advisor. Limna analyses millions of art world data points through machine learning to give users precise valuation details about thousands of paintings. Limna, which currently specialises in original and unique paintings, tracks more than 725,000 artists across over 1,000,000 exhibitions. It continues to supplement its data base with data sourced from about 45,000 institutions ranging from galleries, art fairs and museums.
Limna is one of a growing number of art technology companies in the UK. These have been welcomed by the traditional art world and, consequently, are having a massive effect on digitalising the market.
Limna can represent an opportunity to make galleries, artists, and curators work closely, bringing in new collectors that appreciate the value created by this new transparent algorithm.
