The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the existing trend towards e-commerce, and this has meant a big boom for packaging. So too has the increase in home deliveries grown the appetite for smartly designed custom packaging. Desirable though they are, both of these are complicated and costly features to arrange. Lumi has spotted this niche, developing a digital supply chain infrastructure that acts as a middle-man to easily connect companies with personalised packaging manufacturers.

The company is now large enough to attract packaging manufacturers and popular subscription companies like MeUndies and BarkBox onto the portal. This is a positive development, as packaging manufacturers have proven resistant in the past to adopting online portals to secure clients.

Lumi boasts a 99.9% defect-free rate, and unrivalled ease of use for enterprise clients. With packaging costs significantly impacted by defective or wrong-sized items, and more money lost through systemic inefficiencies, Lumi’s service benefits both the brand and the bottom line. This could prove a real draw in future, with packaging costs projected to rise over the next few years due to ever increasing demand. In 2022 Lumi was acquired by Narvar, whch is testament to its market value. Now, Lumi will be able to reach and serve an increased customer base.
