To solve the global healthcare staffing shortage and to improve access to healthcare provision for everyone in the world.
22% employee growth in 12 months
The World Bank predicts that the global shortage of health professionals is projected to rise to 20 million by 2030. Berlin-based Medwing was founded in 2017, with the goal of keeping the healthcare sector fully and better staffed.
Since then they have created a platform, using digital tools, to help hospitals and other medical care facilities, streamline their recruitment and HR processes. The technology allows them to rethink healthcare, allowing people to work flexibly within the industry. Currently this involves a platform that includes a pool of potential hires, a candidate matching system, and a tool for scheduling interviews and individual shifts.
The current healthcare system is stretched globally leaving Medwing plenty of room for growth. The experienced founders, backed by some high-profile ventures funds, put Medwing in a good position to capitalise on the increased pressure to digitalise the healthcare market.
