To help manufacturing companies make better decisions and create safer, more sustainable products through data-driven analysis.
The EU 2020 Horizon Research programme is a rare stamp of approval for burgeoning social and environmental impact companies, and on the surface, it might not be the clearest Makersite winner The German SaaS company focuses on data analysis for supply chain management, but its USP is apparently the only cloud-based platform that combines data aggregation with product life cycle management.
This combination has many applications within the tech industry, but Makersite’s focus on not only cost and compliance, but sustainability within product manufacturing and supply chains has helped them stand out from other AI tool companies. With environmentally conscious clients such as Lush and Vesta using Makersite’s tools, Makersite has become a major proponent of tech for sustainability.
With 8 million Life Cycle Assessments running through Makersite in 2021 alone, it’s easy to see how it achieved $18 million in Series A in October 2022. With less than 1% of products placing sustainability as a key design parametre, Makersite has found a gap in the market that will grow in importance as an overlooked environmental impact.
