Our take

Mantle is a 3D printing company operating in the $265 billion global tooling market. A familiar problem for manufacturers wanting to launch new products is that the tools they need can cause bottlenecks in the system, with the precision molds and dies required to produce these tools taking months to develop and costing hundreds of thousands of dollars to produce.

Mantle aims to significantly reduce the costs and time it takes to produce these tools, allowing manufacturers to innovate with new products faster than was previously possible. In early 2021, the company released its TrueShape technology, a system that uses metal paste extrusion to strike a balance between conventional manufacturing and 3D printing.

The company launched its metal 3D printing technology in September 2022, targeting the massive skills gap appearing in the injection mold-making industry. Mantle is set to see growth as it expands its customer base and delivers its production systems.
