Matchable

The Matchable team are a collaborative team that work hard and support each other. The team are encouraged to share their opinions, ideas and thoughts and grow within the company. Training and development plans are put in place and the team are given the freedom to upskill and learn new things every day.

Ideas are openly encouraged and great work is recognised. The team celebrate each other's great work every single day - whether that be a small thing or a massive achievement. The entire Matchable team functions and grows as a team and we all learn and win together.

The management team are very supportive at Matchable. The understanding, compassion and support are like nothing I have ever experienced. The management actively encourages me to grow in my role, as a professional and fully support me in my personal life.

It's really great to work for a company where you know they care about your career growth! Their first choice has always been to promote upwards within the company before hiring externally (they've done this across all departments), and I have weekly 1-1s with my manager to discuss my week, personal development goals and anything else that I need to develop and progress.

I have never worked for a company as supportive as Matchable! There was a period where I was really ill, and they encouraged me to take the time off that I needed, as well as worked with me to get me the support I needed with my workload as I recovered. I don't know of any other employer that would actually encourage you to take time off instead of power through, but I was really grateful to have the time!

Matchable is one of the most positive companies companies to work for – maybe it's because we're in the volunteering space and it comes with the territory? We even have a 'positivity' slack channel where we all share our little wins throughout the week and shout out the fantastic work of others in the team. Great work is also recognised by promoting up through the ranks, salary increases, as well as paid team socials & days off for a job well done.

I love being able to work flexibly at Matchable. There is never a question if I start work later in the day to take my dog for a walk, or finish early to exercise or take time for my hobbies.

I followed Matchable's story for a year before joining the company because I believed deeply in what they were doing. Helping people give back in the most meaningful way possible. They live their values everyday which makes it a great place to work.

The team at Matchable is fantastic. Everyone is ready to work hard and jump into helping each other out. It is always a really positive energy whether we are working on a project or meeting up at a social!

You can see first-hand the massive impact that Matchable volunteers have on the small non-profits and startups they collaborate with. Employees from companies all around the world are able to lend their skills to organisations tackling the issues they care about most. Reading the lovely feedback from both parties really makes my day!

At Matchable I feel able to work in a way that suits me, whether that's working in different locations around the country, or starting and finishing work at a time that works for me. I feel trusted to do my work, and encouraged to work in a way that is good for my wellbeing - the boundary between work and life is really well respected.

Being a small startup, there's a lot of scope to choose the best technology, steer the technical direction of the product and implement best practices. The Matchable platform has been built with a modern tech stack and the other tools that the company uses are modern and user-friendly e.g Slack, Notion, Figma, Intercom

We're a great team that's focused on making an impact, its so special to be apart of a team that genuinely likes working with one another and takes care, are very understanding that life is more than just work. Of course we work hard, but thats not the only factor we are trusted to get our work done in our time.

Our company is all about giving back, knowing that the work I do helps others to make a positive impact is so meaningful and more than just hitting targets. As Matchable employees we can also volunteer and make that positive impact!

Management makes sure to involve people in decision making and thinking behind decisions, we all know where we stand. They take time to make sure we know where we need to improve and a focus is placed to try and help where they can. We learn about the position of the company from a financial, cultural and performance setting.

Being able to not only be involved in meaningful work myself through supporting impact organisations grow and succeed, but also promoting meaningful work within other companies via Matchable is so rewarding!

We have plenty of team calls during the week, and lots of ideas sessions. As a startup, each and every team members opinions and ideas are really valued and implemented into the business to help it succeed!

Matchable really does practise what they preach with flexible working! It takes some time getting used to it having worked at non flexible companies, but being able to take time out whenever I need or want to, and pick my work up when I am feeling the most productive really helps both my mental health, and the success of my role within Matchable.

It's a start-up in the best way. You're instantly given a ton of exposure very quickly, something you'd be unlikely to experience at a larger organisation. My job involves speaking with a variety of stakeholders ranging from SME's to the countries biggest corporates

Every morning we have a stand-up where we discuss projects/tasks we're working on. Fresh eyes are really valued and you can see ideas actioned almost immediately.

As long as I succeed in my role, I can see how I'll progress quickly and we've discussed what that could look like in the future. The beauty of a startup like this is you're not required to be bound by e guidelines of 'need to be at company for X long' before a promotion.

Every time I match a volunteer with an impact start-up, I feel great pride that I have helped that organisation in some way. We work with some really amazing impact start-ups who doing vital work, and I love that my job is helping them.

Even when I was just an intern, I felt that my opinions were always taken into account and that I could actually have an impact on how the company works. Everyone in the team is always willing to listen to thoughts and ideas from anyone, and that makes me feel like a valued member of the team.

Matchable has grown so much in the short space of time I have been here. This has led to more challenges and responsibility, which I have loved. It is so exciting to be involved with a company that has a clientele doubling every few months.

Every day at Matchable we work with organisations who want to make the world a better place. It's so rewarding to help small, impact-driven businesses achieve their goals.

Foong, our Founder and CEO, makes sure everyone is included in the big decisions and gets to have their voice heard. She also makes sure to schedule regular one-on-one check-ins to make sure everyone feels happy and supported in their role, and has the chance to express any concerns or issues.

The whole team is really enthusiastic about what we do and makes coming to work every day (even virtually) something to look forward to! Everyone is willing to pitch in during discussions and get stuck in with tasks, even if it sometimes means having to quickly learn something new or act outside of your usual role.
