Our take

Memrise's USP is that its content adapts to users’ needs as they progress through their lessons. Originally a general learning platform, the company saw the importance of focus, so it narrowed down to languages.

Memrise has built the service to work well on desktop and mobile, which is another differentiator that has enabled it to build a loyal customer base. Apple showed off Memrise during a WWDC event, helping create publicity for the product, whilst an app design overhaul in 2026 will see it focus on immersive video dictionaries and conversational AI for speaking practice.
