Our take
Romanian startup Minutizer claim to be the only software company focused on pay-per-minute Skype video calls. With a suite of other products focused on telemedicine, adult entertainment, and fitness, Minutizer’s central product was originally a plugin specifically for Skype that allows individuals to monetise every minute of their video call.
Minutizer empowers freelancers and small businesses to get fair pay for every call they make. With the rise of digital consultancy in the 2020s, there’s a built-in customer base for Minutizer.
Though it originally focused on Skype, Minutizer has branched out to WhatsApp and Discord but is yet to bring its services to FaceTime, GoogleMeets, and Zoom. The latter offers far stronger business features than Skype and is the go-to service for consultancies and digital lectures due to its ability to host up to a thousand people, compared to Skype's one hundred. Minutizer must therefore make new partnerships and deals that can help it tap into the larger client base that other video call services can offer.
