Our take

The industrial sector can be a high-risk, high noise environment. Clear communication in these scenarios is crucial to safety, and historically the best way of doing this has been handheld radios or headsets. It’s an imperfect solution, though - broadcast quality can be poor, and if it’s not hands-free it gets in the way of work. Mobilus has come up with a highly vaunted alternative.

It’s a two-way bone conduction headband that can transmit communications clearly even in noisy environments like construction sites or oil rigs, as well as being highly convenient - it doesn’t obstruct PPE, and it’s entirely hands free. It’s celebrated as the first bone conduction headband to market, and was named one of Time Magazine’s best inventions of 2021.

The technology has been used for hearing aids for years now, but this heavy industries application is a smart move. Not least because it’s a lucrative market, with plenty of deep-pocketed enterprise clients to play for. A device that improves both safety ad productivity is an easy sell, and if Mobilus can onboard some major customers it could see impressive growth.
