Our take
Solving the obstacle of visualising furniture elements in the context of physical space, Modsy have developed a practical VR interior design app that allows users to shift and change elements of their design depending on budget and style, and view them in a 3D mock up of the room.
The service pairs computer vision tech and human designers to let users layout their homes without lengthy design briefs, meetings and the ensuing costs. Packages start from a modest $69, and the company also earns when the furniture they suggest is purchased.
With upwards of $70m in funding and expanding into renovations, kitchens and bathrooms, Modsys future vision of a fully personalised, catalogue like shopping experience within a virtual version of our own homes is set to become a reality.
