Company mission

To help eliminate the global housing deficit while improving industry efficiency, designing out waste and raising quality and performance standards.

Our take

The housing industry is on the precipice of crisis, with unsustainable building practices and a global shortfall of housing stock. These are the mammoth problems Modulous tells us it can address with its software platform managing the delivery of modular housing from conception to construction.

Its model is an intelligent one - it works with suppliers to create standardised supply chain of modular parts and allows construction companies to pre-visualise their assembly and risk, removing the need for permanent factories and letting companies hire assembly spaces near their construction sites instead.

It’s a little convoluted to express in layman’s terms, but the upshot is that Modulous’s model enables housing to be built more quickly, with a lower carbon footprint and less waste - doing what they can to remould the construction industry for a housing-shortage-climate-crisis world. It does have competitors - like TopHat in the UK or Veev in the US - but its focus on removing the need for permanent factories sets it apart somewhat, and these competitors feel indicative of a general movement within the construction industry that bolster’s Modulous’s position, rather than threatening it.
