Moss' mission is to transform the desktop from a rigid, siloed structure into an open and collaborative digital environment.
For creatives, working across disparate desktop silos and file types can make for tricky and complicated administration. Moss is looking to change this, through proposing an entirely new creativity-friendly imagining of the traditional desktop.
The Moss platform will essentially be a tool-agnostic collaborative workflow environment, allowing users to easily share and manipulate files and folders without digging around, editing, and exporting. The platform itself is currently in beta form, and yet to launch officially - although its branding makeover has been causing a stir in the online design press.
It’s a good time to be re-inventing the desktop. The last few years have seen rapid innovation in the field of digital collaboration tools, with companies recognizing the importance of investing in effective and industry-specific workflow software. As of yet, Moss’ approach seems relatively unique - so it will be interesting to see how it lands in the sector upon launch.
