The pandemic encouraged many pubs and restaurants to rethink their ordering system due to the need to respect social distancing measures, check-in requirements and density limits. Mr Yum has capitalised on this opportunity by building a QR code mobile ordering platform.
The company also contributes to the development of menus, a key aspect of restaurants that have not evolved for hundreds of years, by including photos of every dish on their mobile QR ordering platform. As a result, by adopting their system, restaurants have increased their average order value by 30%.
The company has 13 million users and its platform is used by over 1,500 venues, such as restaurants, shopping centers, movie theaters and airports. In 2021 Mr Yum raised $65M in a funding round that is Australia’s third-largest Series A and the largest for a female-led company.
