Our take

Building a website used to be a complicated process that restricted it to programmers, but since the early '00s, there have been many easy-to-use website-building tools. However, the features that these website builders provide often reflect Web2 instead of today's state of online innovation, offering only simple tools and not facilitating development or optimization for mobile.

Munch provides a mobile website-building platform, designed with a variety of drag-and-drop features that facilitate monetization formats such as shops, link pages, event pages, and blogs. The website building tool is optimized for use on mobile and can be used for free until a creator begins to monetize from their website.

Whilst website creation giants such as Wix and Squarespace will present fierce competition for Munch, the company stands out by recognizing device usage trends and focusing on appealing to gen-z creators who primarily use mobile. Through this approach to gen-z accessibility, drag-and-drop interfacing, and a “free until monetization” business model, the company hopes to empower people to create online businesses alone, without the need for expensive professional services.
