Company mission

MyEd's mission is to empower and inspire learners and educators.

Our take

MyEd is an EdTech business with a mission to transform the experience of learning in a rapidly changing world by empowering every young learner to experience personalised immersive learning.

Myed's long-term goal is to facilitate all young learners to be able to quickly and easily gain access to educational opportunities that are compatible with their needs, preferences and aspirations through the use of emerging technological and scientific advancement. The company builds tools and services to help young learners to find the most compatible places to learn, work and play and to give them access to bespoke online learning technologies and resources to realise their ambitions and fulfil their potential.

In 2020, the company won funding from Innovation UK's Sustainable Innovation Fund to develop a new online learning app, MyEd Open School. The Open School now offers a broader range of teaching, homework and communication tools, available across all platforms and devices. The app is specifically designed to allow young children to access key areas with minimal adult intervention.

This new platform compliments its existing product, MyEd Search, which enables parents to make informed school application choices. The company is currently working with Birmingham City Council to bring this service to everyone in greater Birmingham and eventually, the whole of the UK.

Company values

  • Our values are more than a set of statements. They are embedded in our brand identity that evolved from the short name of the business – MyEd. From the outset, we wanted to focus on helping parents/carers to make informed decision about their children’s education. The word ‘My’ in the business name and in the brand design, represented by a hand holding a book depicts our philosophy of putting the individual at the heart of what we do. We want people to own their education - to see it as something they can take control of rather than something that happens to them.
  • We offer a ‘helping hand’ to everyone searching for a place to learn and develop. Our values guide us to conduct all aspects of our business ‘by the book’. We stive to create a trusted brand and to be the ‘go-to place’ for helping parents/carers make informed decisions about their children’s education. We are inclusive and open, aiming to reach all young learners; innovative and enterprising in facilitating transformation of education for the new era; and responsive to the rapidly changing business environment and the needs of our stakeholders
  • These values are summarised in the statement: Keeping the individual learner at the heart of what we do and conducting our business with integrity, creativity and enterprise
