Connecting global communities, starting at home
MyPlace is tackling a niche in hospitality. By creating a platform for users to share their homes with just friends, family and acquaintances, MyPlace enables sharing that wouldn't otherwise happen in public markets.
While AirBnb managed to prove that millions would allow strangers into their home, MyPlace believes that doesn’t apply to everyone, especially those a little nervous about the idea and whose priority is to recover costs rather than make a profit.
The company is scaling its offering to include dozens of beautifully designed homes across Europe and the Americas. The platform has thus far operated in a members-only private beta with a waitlist of thousands. Their challenge is to scale from here, proving that this strategy is about creating a close-knit community rather than superficial exclusivity.
