Enable retailers worldwide to grow fully digitally and flexibly.
Within the global retail market, e-commerce is becoming a very big deal, with retail e-commerce sales being expected to reach over $7 trillion by the mid-decade. Furthermore, in recent years online marketplaces have become an even more fundamental part of e-commerce - over 2/3 of e-commerce sales are now made via such platforms. Yet there is a big problem at the heart of these online marketplaces.
For small retail businesses, finding the funds to grow in visibility and size has become increasingly difficult. In the age of giant online marketplaces like Amazon and Alibaba, getting a new business off the ground is incredibly difficult. Meanwhile, traditional financing providers remain hesitant to lend to young merchants due to their volatile activity and difficulties in offering guarantees.
This is where Myos comes in. At its core, Myos allows merchants to receive liquidity without having to provide guarantees, offering flexible repayment plans rather than traditional fixed annuities. Evaluating credit risk using machine learning, it's central strategy is based on using technology to allow it to access a potential market which traditional finance options have largely ignored.
Although it currently faces little direct competition from the startup ecosystem, Myos might have to compete with well-established financing providers that are addressing similar targets, such as banks offering venture debt. That is why its partnerships with Deutsche Handelsbank and Raising Bank are particularly important, granting the startup the strategic support to hold its ground against competitors
