Company mission

N25 Caviar's mission is to usher in a new era of caviar by delivering exclusive selections of caviar, whether its to the most esteemed palates of private clients or the most prestigious tables in Michelin-starred restaurants.

Our take

Caviar is cool again, particularly in Asia. Over the last few years China has flooded the market with caviar producers, leading to a near 50% drop in prices, which has in turn led to greater accessibility.

It’s still very much a luxury delicacy, but it’s much more attainable for the burgeoning middle and upper middle classes in the likes of Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Singapore. N25 Caviar is one of a handful of companies trying to capitalize on this boom.

The startup, which sources its product in Yunnan, China and ages it at its German HQ, partners with a number of celebrated chefs and successful food distribution companies in Asia, Europe, and now in the UK too. Now that it’s established a relatively exclusive circle, N25 has also made a move into other luxury food items such as wine, sake, wagyu beef and seafood – all of which are highly sought after at high end restaurants, particularly in Asia.

Some critics or skeptics maintain that, just like truffle oil and kale, the caviar renaissance is little more than a short term trend. However, considering N25’s recent bootstrapped move into the UK and expansion to B2C ecommerce, it look like there’s still plenty of room for international growth.
