Our take

NearSt turns online shoppers into in-store customers. The company provides the infrastructure helping thousands of retailers display their live in-store stock online.

NearSt's technology can link into any inventory management or point of sales system and automatically sends the store’s inventory information to places like Google, Facebook, and Instagram for local shoppers to discover. The technology is now integrated into over 130 stock management systems covering over 800,000 retail locations globally and processes over 1B lines of stock daily.

NearSt has attracted the backing of prominent technology investors including Grosvenor Group, True Global, and YYX Capital. It's also been endorsed by industry leaders including former John Lewis MD Paula Nickolds, serial retail entrepreneur Will Hobhouse, and former Google Campus CEO and investor Sarah Drinkwater.

Benefits

  • Stock Options: Everyone should share a stake in our success, so if you’re a full time employee you’ll receive stock options when you join
  • Mental Health Support: Taking care of your mental health is just as important as your physical health, so we provide professional and confidential support from the wonderful therapists at Spill, directly in Slack
  • Wellnhess Budget: Stay at your best with a monthly wellness budget to spend as you please on things to keep you happy, healthy and well through our partners at Juno. Whether that’s on meditation apps, healthy food subscriptions, or gym memberships. If it keeps you well, it’s covered
  • Personal Growth: Develop personally and professionally with an annual budget of £1,000 for you to upskill in ways that suit your own learning style - whether through books, training courses, or attending events
  • Holiday: 25 days of holiday as standard plus a free company-wide shutdown between Christmas and New Year, for everyone to recharge. On your birthday (or an alternative important life-event day), take the day off as well
  • Maternity & Paternity: We believe early-stage startups often miss out on talented mums and dads, so we’ve worked hard to make sure NearSt is a great place to be (or become!) a parent

  • We believe we all do our best work when we can be our true selves and when we foster an environment that taps all the talents of the world - not just the ones that look and sound like the people who joined the company at the start
  • In hiring we are committed to a fair and de-biased process, where we don't look at CVs, and instead have an initial anonymous review process where multiple team members review applicant answers
  • We're constantly looking at how we can better reach people who might be underrepresented through typical recruitment channels, and look at how the language in our job descriptions can attract a broad range of applicants.
  • We have a DEI team who meet monthly to look at ways we can continually improve, as well as reviewing and implementing suggestions from the wider team.
