Our take
Taking a leaf out of the Air BnB playbook, Neighbor is a storage space marketplace that allows customers to both rent cheaper storage rooms, and to advertise their own space as storage for others. Pooling locals into different catchment areas, Neighbor has capitalized on the wasted space crackdown and allows space sellers to bolster their income through its hyperlocal platform.
The ingenious storage space idea focuses on what would otherwise be advertisements on the likes of Gumtree and provides vetted, safe and secure storage for customers. Investors include Airbnb and Uber and it is now available across all 50 states of America, highlighting its promise and success so far in the industry.
Having raising significant funding since its founding in 2017, Neighbor may be looking to set its sights on expanding overseas with many European cities experiencing the issue of scarce storage space, and so Neighbour may find this particularly lucrative.
