Our take
Building construction can be a highly inefficient process, often taking months longer than it should whilst producing vast quantities of material waste. These inefficiencies cause significant financial and time losses for construction companies, but perhaps the most significant impact is that of the carbon emissions associated with day-to-day construction processes and the materials being used.
Nexii provides a platform and project management solution for the construction of buildings, with a focus on tackling inefficiencies in sustainability, time, and finances. The company achieves this through its low-carbon material product Nexiite, used to manufacture bespoke panels to facilitate rapid building assembly within days with near-zero waste.
Within the building construction industry, many startups are using AI and other data-driven technologies to tackle wastage, staffing, and other inefficiencies, but Nexii has taken a unique approach by tackling the problem directly at its source. By providing a low-carbon material that can be manufactured to bespoke specifications, the company is able to rapidly increase construction speeds whilst minimizing the overall carbon footprint of projects.
The company has received considerable investment over the years, the latest of which will help accelerate growth and manufacturing capacity, in order to meet inflating demand. Nexii has also agreed to purchase Solar Earth, a manufacturer of hardened solar panels that can generate power while used in sidewalks and parking lots, in order to further improve the sustainability credits of its buildings.
