To end social isolation and loneliness amongst vulnerable groups in society, particularly children and adults with long-term illnesses, through the use of 'warm technology'.
7% employee growth in 12 months
No Isolation was started in October 2015, aiming to bring people together using 'warm technology' to reduce loneliness and social isolation.
It started out with the AV1, a robot with a camera and two-way audio, helping children with serious long-term illnesses to have social interactions and education remotely. After its success, No Isolation developed a computer called KOPM which connects older people - such as grandparents - used to analogue technology with their more digitally savvy, younger family members.
Loneliness takes a huge toll on both mental and physical health, causing stress-related and even heart issues - between 20 and 40% of people are affected by loneliness. As a result, CEO Karen Dolva wants to establish the 'pricetag of loneliness' to help isolated people.
Alongside its products, the company conducts research on the harmful effects of loneliness.
