Our take
The global climate crisis is only getting worse, and the world needs new methods to mitigate the effects of rising carbon emissions. Nuada is a company delivering energy-efficient carbon capture for hard-to-abate sectors, enabling industrial businesses to pursue decarbonisation.
The company's filtration machines make carbon capture commercially viable, so that high emission processes can essentially be "balanced out". Nuada's approach combines the use of advanced solid adsorbents with vacuum swing technology. This means it uses pressure rather than heat, so it has a much lower energy cost than other carbon capture techniques - making it more appropriate for mass adoption.
With this innovative technology, Nuada has the potential to play a key part in the transition to a net zero carbon future, and its machines are already being deployed by industry leaders in the cement sector. It has raised significant funding that will support the construction of a new pilot plant at an energy-from-waste facility in the UK, which will seek to demonstrate the versatility of the company's methods as it eyes up other high-carbon sectors.
