Our take
Renting can be an uncomfortable process, and not very customer friendly. There is an issue with overall supply, with two thirds of the real estate on the market not being to rent, making it difficult to find a place you love and can afford. OWNR are setting out to help tackle this supply problem as well as reshape the increasingly difficult path to home ownership.
OWNR has a new digital business model combining residential real estate with leasing financial modelling. They increase supply by purchasing properties and transferring them to the rental market. Customers can then select their desired property from the entire portfolio and renovate it to their individual specifications, giving customers a unique living experience and the chance to own the property in the medium term. At the end of the lease, the renters can choose to either extend the lease, buy the property or move out.
This business model offers an innovative solution to a serious problem impacting residential markets across world.
