OWWN's mission is to empower Gen-Z to make excellent financial decisions.
The fintech market is saturated with a variety of smartphone applications that promise money management and saving opportunities, but many of these are full of jargon and are difficult to understand for Gen-Z users. Whilst using technical terms is essential to describe financial concepts, existing applications do not provide educational tutorials to help beginners get started.
OWWN (previously Wajve) provides a smartphone app for financial management, saving, and education, aimed towards introducing Gen-Z users to unfamiliar concepts in the financial sector. In addition to providing financial tracking tools, a micro-saving function, pay-day loans, and a fully integrated physical payment card, the application also includes an educational content service called The Surfer that helps young users understand the world of finance.
Whilst it is undeniable that many smartphone apps such as Monzo and Revolut provide similar financial services, OWWN stands out by providing its features within a foundation of education. By providing such educational content, OWWN shows promise at attracting a Gen-Z userbase, a demographic that often avoid such applications due to being unfamiliar with fundamental financial concepts.
