To rescue odd and surplus food in order to reduce food waste and foster conscious consumerism.
9% employee growth in 12 months
Oddbox is a provider of sustainable fruit and vegetable boxes. The company buys fresh produce from local farms and delivers them in a weekly subscription box scheme to clients.
Oddbox aims to fight food waste. The company differentiates itself through the fact that the fruits and vegetables within boxes are supplied by farmers who would otherwise send them to waste due to the fact that they are misshapen or a surplus. What's more, the company is a Certified B Corporation. Its boxes are 30% cheaper than alternatives and the company donates 10% of its produce to charities that aim to fight food poverty.
Alongside its continued expansion across the UK, Oddbox aims to build a ‘personal impact’ dashboard that will allow consumers to view the CO2 emissions and water that they saved by using its service. Recent funding from a multi-million pound crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs will be used to scale its operations and to improving its tech so the company can offer a more personalised box for its customers.
