Its appeal lies largely in the fact that it’s Python-based and open source - allowing for a great deal of customizability to suit the needs of a specific business or individual. Its machine learning includes natural language processing, meaning it can also analyse news headlines to see how current events have impacted share prices.

The other appeal is that it’s much cheaper - so its target market is largely smaller financial companies priced out of Bloomberg’s dominance. But it’s a young company with ambitions to grow to level where it can market itself at the biggest financial institutions in the world.
