Our take

As traditional newspapers and publishers have faced major disruption and falling readership, they have come to realise that they need to both listen to their readers and find new ways to engage them. Opinary helps them do both.

Opinary’s opinion-sharing tools provide a seamless, one-click opportunity for journalists to engage their readers and publishers to find out valuable information about their readers’ views and opinions.

The company aims to further internationalize their business and increase their impact on users by providing even deeper insights and letting publishers thrive on user-friendly and cookie-free advertising.

The product has found a winning reception among publishers and brands. However, these are the behemoths of what many commentators take to be a dwindling industry, written journalism. Affinity, a global adtech platform, acquired Opinary in 2023 and this may go someway to expand Opinary's previous focus on journalism and publishing. The combination of Affinity's global reach and Opinary's polling technology is intended to bring first-party data to Affinity's partners through Opinary's polling technology.
