Orbit's mission is to help users deliver a stellar member experience, quantify their business impact, and become community-driven.
Orbit’s bold proposal that “community is the new pre-sales” is becoming increasingly apt, as online communities and specialists are having a greater and more authoritative influence on product adoption. However, understanding and quantifying the impact of key community players has proven difficult historically, even as companies begin to acknowledge the pivotal role communities play in a business’ growth. Orbit’s answer is to provide an open source community framework, which draws on data from community channels like Twitter, Discord, and GitHub to help companies build a detailed picture of who is involved in their community, to what degree, and how it can be helped to grow.
In spite of being officially launched just in mid-2021, Orbit have a growing customer base of over 4,000 teams, including Agora, Typeform, and DataStax. They put this down to a shift in the way software is consumed: whereas previously it would be bought, now increasingly it is adopted, a trend that was accelerated as the Pandemic period shut down the ability to close sales at in-person events. It’s an exciting new development in go-to-market strategizing, and will certainly make Orbit an interesting company to watch as they develop.
