Osano's mission is to create societal good by empowering businesses and consumers with knowledge and transparency into how their personal data is shared, with whom, and why.
Osano aims to help companies manage their privacy law compliance. It’s a simple proposition, but one with application across all sectors - and all sizes of business. Osano’s own privacy score calculator, for example, ranks companies as large as Twitter among those whose privacy practices are “very poor”.
This kind of offering is growing in popularity, with the advent of increasingly stringent privacy laws like GDPR and CCPA. Infractions can be devastatingly costly, and with these laws frequently changing it is imperative that companies keep on top of compliance.
Osano helps to ease these worries by simplifying this complicated process for companies, making their service a much needed one in this heavily regulated world of data compliance. Interestingly, the company provides assurance of inheriting data privacy fines of its customers, should they ever find themselves in such a bind.
The company has netted significant funding since being founded. With the risk and compliance software market competitive and growing, Osano will need to tread both carefully and boldly to stand out from the crowd. To this end, it continues to invest in product development, which has contributed to it gaining industry recognition for its offering.

When I started at Osano the focus was on getting me up to speed on the product and data privacy space. I was given the opportunity to study for a data privacy certification and an onboarding schedule of docs (internal and customer-facing). Everyone was so helpful with tips and daily check-ins.

Having worked as a PM at a large Enterprise company, I was used to the challenges in leading product when so many decisions are out of your hands and developers are hesitant to believe meaningful change is possible since they all know from experience that the environment they work in makes change difficult. At Osano, I was able to get to business within a couple weeks of onboarding and start leading a team of autonomous developers to help deliver a product absolutely essential to our customers and our company. At Osano, taking initiative is rewarded and there are no political or bureacratic boxes you have to work in or around.
