To make commerce at the point of discovery work for brands, creators, and shoppers.
eCommerce and social media have overlapped in increasingly fruitful ways over recent years, thanks to brands leveraging the power of influencer marketing and consumers increasingly looking for sales opportunities to meet them where they are. It means that tools which help brands to leverage this overlap are big business - Ownit has created one of them.
The tool is a social media point-of-discovery payments feature, which allows brands to embed one-click checkout options in content across all major channels including Instagram, TikTok, and text. The tool also integrates with eCommerce platforms like Amazon and Shopify, and all major payment systems including Apple Pay, PayPal, and Google Pay.
It’s a simple but potentially game-changing refinement on the current model of external eCommerce links. It’s likely to mean big business, too. Streamlining the checkout experience is seen by many as the next frontier of eCommerce, with checkout startups like the unicorn Rapyd and decacorn Bolt receiving multi-billion dollar valuations for their innovations. With a veteran team of payments and eCommerce specialists at the helm, Ownit may well go on to join these new giants.
