Our take

Before the internet, when satellite television dominated entertainment consumption, production houses and content creators were forced to rely on a mix of loud media reviewers and Nielsen to get a feel for how their shows were received. Parrot Analytics is dramatically upgrading the feedback mechanism for the modern TV content creator.

Parrot is the industry’s first cross-platform global demand measurement standard for TV content. Crucially, by capturing a variety of data points - social media engagement, streams, online discourse - the startup can provide a much clearer picture of what content creators really care about… enthusiasm.

After truly changing the game for TV, Parrot Analytics is now going after film. That means bringing the industry data-driven demand prediction services for the first time.

Hopefully Parrot will be able to deliver on its promise to drive better production, distribution, acquisition and marketing decisions its new cohort of film entertainment clients. If it can make a success out of this, there’s no reason the company couldn’t grow to displace the institution of Nielsen Ratings.
