As personal data privacy becomes an increasing concern for companies and institutions, Patients Know Best (PKB) looks to address this issue within the healthcare industry. PKB provides patients with the agency to manage and control their own health records through an easy-to-use platform, helping them and their carers understand and make their own decisions on the best available treatments for them.
With county trusts across the UK now using the PKB platform, the company’s journey has been a long one. Founded back in 2009, technology has finally caught up with the lofty aims of PKB, as their platform now integrates wearable devices and gives patients quicker and easier access to their records.
Inspired by his patients' disjointed information resulting in suboptimal care, the platform was founded by a doctor who saw the importance of attainable records. The platform has seen renewed importance in the 2020s and is taking a leaf out of the book of American private healthcare companies who offer similar platforms. PKB, though, seems to be a leader in record sharing for the UK.
