Our take
As rapid computing development puts more pressure on the grid, there is a vital need for more sustainable energy storage solutions. Sodium-ion batteries are cost-effective and cleaner than other solutions, so Peak Energy is attempting to industrialise their manufacture and create a new clean storage standard in the process.
Founded by former Tesla Director Landon Mossburg, Peak Energy is already a US leader in Sodium-ion battery production and is building towards pilot programmes to launch in 2025. With a strong Series A behind it, the company aims to eventually replace more costly and less efficient lithium batteries as the primary power storage source for high-level computing.
