Peckish's mission is to give real foodies the recognition they deserve by creating a fairer, better and more suitable app for those who care about food.
Instead of meeting up with loved ones at restaurants to connect over a meal during the COVID-19 pandemic, many stayed connected over social media by sharing photos of recipes and indulgent meals. Hoping to capitalise on this trend for sharing meals are Peckish.
The idea was first imagined by Ben Lebus, the founder of Mob Kitchen, an online food platform that has an audience of over 1.5m food enthusiasts. Ben teamed up with his brother Joseph, to design and build the app.
Peckish are trying to cultivate a community for real foodies, where people passionate about food can connect and inspire one and other through the platform. Users can find and save new recipes from peers or chefs. Users can then upvote and down-vote their favourite meals, creating 'dishes of the day'.
