Peek Vision is a social enterprise that develops evidence-based smartphone tools for eye health organisations to tackle the global vision crisis and improve access to eye care in low- and middle-income countries. Its smartphone technology allows non-specialists – such as teachers and community health workers – to conduct vision screening and eye health surveys in homes, communities and schools. Eye health services using Peek can screen for eye health conditions by using a smartphone app to conduct vision checks and then track patients through the health system.
This generates real-time data allowing healthcare providers to identify gaps and inequalities in their services, understand where the need is greatest and how to improve services through cost-effective, targeted treatment. Peek's award-winning Peek Acuity app has been shown to be at least as accurate as a conventional eye test in independent research.
Peek Vision has offices in Botswana, Kenya and the UK, and works in partnership with eye health organisations, governments and NGOs across the world. Peek tools are clinically validated and supported by years of peer-reviewed research and trials.
