Perry Health is on a mission to rethink chronic care delivery through a purely-remote, continuous care model.
Few industries have been swept up by digitization quite the health space, with the digital health market attracting billions in annual investment and continuing to grow at around 15% each year.
However, with well over 30,000 health startups operating in the US alone, the onus is on these disruptors to find the right niche. Perry Health is focusing on people with diabetes – a disease which affects around 10% of the population.
It's model is quite simple. By sending patients glucometers which automatically transmit readings to a team of health professionals, it's able to provide remote digital care. That its services are covered by Medicare is a crucial factor that should help reach a wider patient base.
Though operating in a less saturated corner of the health tech space, there’s still competition from the likes of Onduo, Virta Health, and Livongo. However, Perry Health is well funded, increasing its headcount, and is steadily expanding into new states.
