Our take
As software development evolves to embrace open source technology and DevOps, the security risks grow exponentially. That’s what Phylum takes aim at, with its automated security package designed specifically to defend the open source software ecosystem.
Security systems tend to lag behind the technology they are designed to protect, for obvious reasons. But Phylum’s model is of proactive risk analysis, using massive data sets to find risk indicators and identify risks the most for up-to-date software development practices. Its detection processes are automated as well, analysing a software package in an average time of 11 minutes and letting developers focus on their work rather than worrying about security risks.
They’re focusing recent fundraising on strengthening their machine learning models for proactive risk assessment, as well releasing an updated version of their DevSecOps platform.
