Our take

The current generation of youth favor communication through social media 'stories' and memes, as opposed to purely using words. Whilst existing digital platforms provide ‘filters’ and editing features, the selection is minimal and users often compensate through third-party apps.

PicsArt provides a social media editing platform that focuses on providing tools for visual expression. The audience is focused on young content creators, as opposed to other social media apps that focus on passive consumption of social media.

PicsArt currently has over 150 million users and has so far focused efforts on digital art creation. However, the startup is aiming to boost consumption through social connection and integration with other social media platforms.
