PitchMe's mission is too create a talent ecosystem that supports inclusive employment and continuous upskilling and reskilling for the future of work.
PitchMe is confronting some of the key problems with the status quo of recruitment. Firstly, about 85% of skills potentially relevant to a role are not presented in resumes. At the same time, employers are realising that a new era of diversity and inclusion necessitates eliminating bias from the recruitment process wherever possible.
PitchMe aims to resolve both these issues with a unique approach, grounded in research by behavioral scientists, by replacing the traditional CV with a system that presents candidates’ soft skills and hard skills to employers. Essentially, they use data analytics to mine a candidate’s wider professional presence (e.g open-source code contributions) to present a more holistic picture to employers, utilizing AI-driven tools to help companies hire more efficiently.
The company has pursued both a candidate and employer-facing strategy. The next steps for the startup include building out the training piece of their product, helping candidates to become more attractive while continuing to add ATS and CRM integrations for employers.
The biggest challenge for PitchMe will be proving to talent acquisition teams its claim that its proprietary SmartMe profiles provide a level of reliable, granular insight into candidates far better than the traditional resume screening process.
