It can be difficult to find reliable and secure sites to browse and book campsites and holiday parks, with numerous sites offering incomplete information about the surrounding areas. Pitchup was founded to help users to find somewhere to stay, while at the same time get all the information they could want about local walking routes, pubs, nearby events and the like.
The platform offers over 5000 locations in over 60 countries and has witnessed tremendous growth since its launch in 2009; surpassing the milestone of 25 million nights booked and becoming Europe’s leading site for outdoor accommodation. The company is bootstrapped, but profitable since 2015 - testament to the popularity of the site.
Recently, more outdoor, local holidays, away from popular tourist resorts, have exploded in popularity. Pitchup has been able to take advantage of this, and is now leaning into helping people get away more sustainably, and supporting mental health by improving access to nature.

Pitchup has been working with campsites, holiday parks and landowners for over ten years to revolutionise the outdoor accommodation market. It's incredibly satisfying to speak to site owners who have used Pitchup to generate more income, and understand how this additional revenue has improved their business. In so many cases, after the pandemic had decimated tourism, there was a real fear some sites wouldn't be able to survive another year. Nothing gives me more personal fulfilment than knowing our hard work means that a campsite is full of customers excited to be outdoors in nature, and that those owners can see their business grow into future years.

We are able to make an impact on smaller businesses by having them bookable on the PitchUp portal, giving them the same visibility more established sites would have. This allows campsites to grow bigger and stronger, giving them more revenue to reinvest in the outdoor holiday sector. We are also actively building and sharing resources for people who want to set up their own campsite.

We're growing faster than other OTAs - when Airbnb, Expedia and Booking.com were reporting reductions in room nights sold in Q3 2021, we reported over 80% growth. We increased the size of our team by over 66% during 2021. The momentum we're building makes this an exciting place to work and means that there's lots of opportunity to grow your career as the company grows
