Our take

Pixion is a game developer specialising in competitive, play-to-earn multiplayer mobile games, that sets itself apart with a focus on games that can be enjoyed in short sessions - that the company calls "Lunchtime eSports".

Pixion's first title, 2022's Fableborne, combines base-building gameplay with RPG action. In line with the company's mission, it is designed not to demand too much of a user's time, so that it can be enjoyed over a lunch break or during travel, whilst still being interesting to play.

The play-to-earn aspect of Pixion's games enables players to obtain NFTs through both purchase and gameplay, with features built atop a blockchain-backed game economy. In answering the rising interest in play-to-earn mobile games, as well as solving a problem for gamers who don't have much time to donate to new titles, the company has completed several rounds of seed funding and will be intriguing to follow into the future.
