Our take

Norway’s real estate market is beginning to thaw after a particularly chilly few years, which means retail renting is also on the up. Plaace is a new marketplace platform looking to capitalise on it. The Plaace platform helps retail landlords and renters browse renting opportunities, and select the right ones using real estate data including footfall, location analytics, and general location overview.

In this way, Plaace is part of a growing trend in the real estate industry to overhaul legacy practices and reap the cost, time, and efficiency benefits of digital transformation. Whilst the sector has been slow to catch up, substantial amounts of capital are now being poured into realtech startups. In Norway specifically, 2021 was a recordbreaking year for startup investments more broadly, so Plaace’s 2020 launch saw them benefit from these two swelling market trends.

To some degree, Plaace will still have to contend with a real estate market that, whilst recovering, is not yet in full flow. What it offers, however, is so far a relatively unique proposition for the region, so Plaace is in a potentially strong position for future growth.

Leadership

Has extensive experience as a senior consultant at companies including BEKK, NRK, Miles AS, and TeliaSonera. Subsequently pivoted to work in product, working in various managerial and advisory roles for Telenor Digital and Geddit.

Previously an Accenture consultant, who moved into project management at NorgesGruppen before taking part in the first enterprise cohort at startup generator Antler.

Worked as a tech product reviewer, then a business advisor with Spark, before moving on to hold various analyst positions with Televenture Management and nFront Capital. Prior to joining the Antler cohort, was a growth consultant with BikeFinder.
