Company mission
Playback's mission is to pioneer the future of watching sports. We believe sports are at their best when enjoyed together, but online streaming remains a solitary experience. We're making it possible for any fan to watch any game with their online community.
Our take
Online streaming platforms are fantastic tools for like-minded people to discuss hobbies and events, and the world of sports is no exception to this. However, the wide range of available streaming platforms fragments online sports communities, whereas it would be better to unite communities through an integrated streaming platform.
Playback provides a streaming platform application for the discussion of sports and sporting events, integrating existing streaming platforms such as Twitch and YouTubeTV into community rooms. Creators can share their room link and communicate with their viewers through voice, video, and text chat, designed with zero latency in mind for the specific purpose of real-time sports viewing.
Whilst the streaming landscape is currently dominated by platforms such as Twitch and YouTubeTV, Playback has taken a unique approach by integrating all major platforms into their own application to unite communities and reduce fragmentation. The service is currently in beta mode and is currently accepting creator and community partnerships to help scale the early stages of the company.
