Plumerai is making AI tiny and accurate.
Plumerai is an intelligent sensor company that is making AI smaller and more accurate. It enables AI inference on small, affordable and low-power hardware, which never compromises on personal privacy. The company embeds intelligent, battery-powered sensors, and creates a future where we know more things faster. The company envisions a future with 100s of billions of tiny AI devices that create a huge opportunity for smart homes, retail, on-device voice assistants, and many more markets.
This is being made possible with the help of Binarised Neural Networks (BNNs). These are deep learning models where the activations and weights are encoded using only 1 bit. Plumerai primarily deploys its BNNs on microcontrollers and low-power FPGAs, and vertically integrates all layers of the stack. Data collection and curation for its sensors enable custom training software, model architectures, pre- and post-processing, and even the fastest inference engines.
Plumerai is backed by world-class investors with strong backgrounds in deep learning. Among them are Tony Fadell (creator of iPod, iPhone, founder of Nest), Hermann Hauser (founder of Arm) and Zoubin Ghahramani (University of Cambridge, Google DeepMind).
