Company mission

To become the super-platform for non-professional football in Europe that brings pro-level experiences (news, data, gamification) to the mega community of +190mn football fanatics in the non-pro ecosystem.

Our take

There are already a bunch of apps for football. Whether its FotMob, OneFootball, ESPN or Sky Sports, fans of professional football are arguably saturated with ways to keep tabs on their favourite players, teams and transfer news. However, none of that exists for the grassroots football scene.

Prematch is trying to deliver a comprehensive digital football entertainment experience for the millions of amateur football fans in Europe. It began by supplying a social network for participants - as well as a platform for finding results and information about the amateur leagues - and has been built up to include mock transfer fees, statistics and player profiles, and current news.

The app, as expected, is mostly used by amateur players themselves, with Prematch stating that roughly a third of the adult amateur players in Germany have downloaded it. By adding this new digital dimension to the amateur leagues, the company has certainly found a niche to play in. Recent funding will support enhanced product development and hiring efforts, as it looks to increase community engagement and reach.
