PureGym is growing across all business functions to support UK and international growth. We are currently the largest gym provider in the UK but have plans to double in size over the next few years. We have also launched in Denmark, Switzerland, US and the UAE in the last few years and are continuing to open new sites in new regions and countries. Having worked for PureGym for more than 7 years, I have seen the IT department scale up from a team of 4 people to now being almost 100 strong. With such scaling comes a lot of challenges, all of which we have met, and continue to meet, with fervor. PureGym, over the last couple of years, has evolved to become a group as it began to scale globally. This has, understandably, not come without its technical challenges in terms of the planning, organization, execution and testing of our technical infrastructure and applications, to support this endeavor.

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, one of the most important things for me, when joining a company, is knowing that the business cares about quality and recognizes the importance of testing. PureGym has certainly exceeded my expectations in this regard as we are very test-heavy in our developmental processes. Our senior management team also actively bear testing resources in mind when resourcing developers for projects. This is one of many things that makes me feel valued and appreciated.

PureGym believes in innovation and iterative improvement. The technology stack that we use has evolved over the years, though cautiously, to ensure that we remain current and competitive. Our Quality Assurance team is very technically strong. We have built up a substantial suite of automation testing frameworks, written from the ground up, that are exercised daily and are well-embedded into their respective development pipelines. These play a significant role in ensuring that all deliverables are consistently of a high quality across the estate.
