Purple Dot's mission is for retailers to think differently about discounting and move away from "binary" pricing to benefit both themselves and the consumer.
Purple Dot are offering retailers a solution to the problem of unsold stock leading to reduced margins. The introduction of their price negotiation tool also e-commerce retailers to better compete against the likes of Ebay and Depop, where negotiating is much more common and can lead to better outcomes for both sides.
By combating the mass of inventory sent to landfill or burned, Purple Dot have a positive environmental impact while also driving savings for consumers.
The challenge for Purple Dot will be persuading the huge breadth of different retailers to use their solution, and building something that's easy for businesses to implement.
