Q Doctor's mission is to improve access and efficiency in healthcare, getting high quality care to patients who can't access their GP directly.
Our take
Q Doctor brings secure video consultations to the NHS. They support practices with the technical capabilities to offer at-home video consultations, which can give patients to access the professional healthcare advice and support they need, more quickly and efficiently.
Connecting patients to GPs through online video is already a substantial market, with big players like Push Doctor having grown rapidly off the back of the desire for modernisation of the GP consultation process. The big difference with Q Doctor is that its consultations are free for patients. It's focused on helping the NHS to make the institutional changes needed to embrace the available technology and provide the care patients need without the paywall.
This altruistic model has already seen considerable uptake. If Q Doctor can keep up its momentum, it has real potential to shape the NHS for the better; all whilst keeping good quality healthcare free for all.
